The Corona crisis is a drastic event for our society. We, the 15 photographers from all over Germany, together with the advertising agency Brandcom from Cologne, want to capture the experiences. To this end, we are portraying people who are fundamentally affected by this time out. They all combine the forced time out with an uncertain end.
In the first week of the Corona shutdown, we were shaped by the feeling that we are involuntarily becoming witnesses to a situation that we will remember for a long time to come. At the same time, the synchronicity of the massive restrictions is disturbing and comforting for the entire society. All people who live here are affected. From the homeless to the millionaire. Everyone has their own personal Corona history.
We want to record the experiences as documentation, also to support the collective culture of memory.
For this purpose we portray people who are fundamentally affected by this time out. On the one hand, there are those who support social life and currently have to work under difficult conditions, such as nurses, cashiers and doctors. On the other hand, however, above all those who are now threatened by the very existence of their families because they are currently not allowed to work at all or only to a very limited extent: Entrepreneurs, freelancers, actors, hairdressers, waiters, celebrities and ordinary people. They all combine forced time out with an uncertain end.
